Family Consultant Program

MYalliance has certified 12 Family Consultants to be contracted and paid to fulfill various roles within our child-serving systems. The purpose of this is to bring the voice and lived expertise of parents to our System of Care efforts, as a key strategy to bring about positive changes to our children’s services and systems. This is an “administrative” role (Family Consultants will not be delivering clinical services to families.) They have received training in topics like professionalism, adaptive leadership, suicide prevention, trauma-informed care, cultural intelligence, and systems of care. They receive ongoing monthly training and supervision by the MYalliance administrative team.

Examples of roles include but are not limited to:

  • MYalliance Governance Committee Participation
  • MYalliance Service Design Team Committee Participation
  • MYalliance Mobile Response and Stabilization Committee Participation
  • MYalliance Social Marketing Committee Participation
  • MYalliance Evaluation Team Participation
  • Trauma training facilitation: presenting workshops about trauma and resiliency
  • QPR training facilitation: becoming a certified QPR Instructor around suicide prevention and facilitating this 90 minute training for parents or other groups
  • Parenting class facilitation: becoming certified in an evidence based parenting class curriculum and helping teach this to other families
  • Planning/hosting events: Helping plan and host events like family dinners
  • Social media assistance: Help MYalliance team develop content for the MYalliance facebook pages
  • Administrative support: Help with office tasks such as making copies, filing, etc.
